Charles Rainey

Obituary

Charles Anderson Rainey was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 12, 1955 to Albert Dean Rainey of Mississippi & Margaret Marie Bryant of Virginia (both deceased). He grew up in Cleveland and graduated from Max Hayes, where he studied plumbing and engineering. He served in the military as a Marine.

Charles was a general contractor with many years of experience. He specialized in plumbing and electrical work but was also skilled in other construction trades. Contracting work took him to multiple states from Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. His home improvement skills were valued by all. He was always willing to help friends and family with any size project from kitchen remodeling to basement wall repair and waterproofing along with complete home renovations. Later he decided to become a certified nurse aid (CNA) because of his love and empathy for people. Charles was employed as a CNA at a nursing home where he loved to take care of others. He was well loved by all who knew him for his generosity and his infections smile. Charles will truly be missed.

Charles passed away on November 8, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Albert Rainey, his two sisters, Dorothy Hawkins and Roseanne (Marvin Wilson).

He leaves to cherish his memory a brother Albert Rainey (Cameo), two sisters, Marguerite Phillips (Roland), and Marilyn Rainey. Also, his children: Christopher Davis, Sheronda Lynn Martin, Charlene Walker, Iesha Kimbrough, and Nathaniel Walker.
